SooperLooper Display on IPhone

I've been working on a new live setup which uses SooperLooper - the bad ass looping software for OS X and Linux.

Live looping setup tutorial

SooperLooper Mainstage and Max/Msp from sam_square on Vimeo.

This shows you the ins and outs of setting up a live performance system with some nifty software called SooperLooper, midi patchpay, max/msp and MainStage. SooperLooper and Midi Patchbay are shareware and freeware respectively. Nuff said. Substitute your DAW for MainStage.

iPhone 4 Track recording by SamGreene.com

A song I did with the iPhone 4 Track application. You have to play very quietly or you will get distortion. It also had some problems with glitching on the bass track right at the end. edit: They've since release a new version.

Free EXS24 and samples - Circuit Bending a Casio

Here is a instrument I made by taking apart an old casio keyboard and tying a copper wire between two tiny screwdrivers and touching solder points that were never meant to be connected. If you've never done this and you have an old keyboard around, give it a try.

I've mapped the low bass sound to outputs 3-4 and the tapping sounds at the top of the keyboard to 5-6.

Below is an example of this instrument in use. Some effects and liberal use of the cutoff filter on the ESX24.

You can import these samples into your preferred sampler as well - they are .aif format.

Another comparison of the Epiphone AJ500RE and Yamaha Eterna. The Epiphone goes the first four measure and the Yamaha gets the second four - until it starts over and they reverse.
