For the past 20 years, the common man has been able to record multi-track audio with relative ease. We've gone from 4 track tape recorder to computer interfaces that can handle massive amounts of simultaneous input. Join the ranks of people who make audio engineers and studio owners weep. With some money and some perseverance you can record yourself and your friends. Don't kid yourself, it's not going to sound technically AMAZING, but if you have great songs it doesn't really matter. And really, you don't even have to be great, you just need to have fun. |

Why not with mainstage?
...
Hi,
I found your videos very interesting (and I posted one in my blog making a comparision between Live, Mainstage and Flyloops for Live Looping.
Nowadays I'm wondering the possibility to make mainstage an alternative for Live.
It could be possible do something similar in mainstage? Clip matrix launch, live loop capture, chop and so on...?
What do you think?
Thanks again,
Mudo

MS can't do the chopping
MS can't do the chopping yet. You'd have to throw a file into logic and create an exs24 instrument out of it on the fly - not something I'd like to do during a set. MS also has no clip matrix. I'm leaning toward Ableton for my live performance tool for looping - augmented by MS for some keyboards. If only I could get MainStage into Ableton without SoundFlower! It creates too much latency for me.
And maxmsp dedicated patch...
...
Then why not to implement these features in maxmsp directly to work with MS or drag a mail to Apple?
